The Republic of Turkey, referred as Turkey, is a country spanning two continents on the Eurasian continent, bordering the Black Sea in the north and the Mediterranean Sea in the South, nearing Syria and Iraq in the Southeast, Aegean Sea in the West, Greece and Bulgaria, and Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Iran in the East.

Turkey is a crossroads connecting Europe and Asia. Its capital, Ankara, covers an area of 783,600 square kilometers and has a population of 84.68 million (as of December 2021), with more than 80% Turkish and 15% Kurdish. The country is divided into 81 provinces.
